A slightly more practical and every day sister to The Rocker Bag, this bag is seriously cool. I’ve been using mine every day since I found it at a market, and subsequently spent the next couple weeks tracking down the maker to get one for the collection and one for my clothing designer friend (Sarisa, clothes featured in the collection) who kept eyeing mine. The fabric, which is one of my favorite that you can see in my own designs in the collection, is a vintage hemp handwoven by the Hmong hill tribe people. Each piece of fabric is unique. This fabric is getting harder to find and more expensive as a result. The tin embroidery is an Akha hill tribe people design. The Akha people are one of the indigenous hill tribes that live in the mountains of Northern Thailand and elsewhere around the region. Original embroidery would likely have been silver. The Akha people are famous for their high-fashion and eye-catching traditional dress. Read up more if you have a moment.
